Cumberland County Schools will be participating in the National Federation of High Schools National Be the light movement. Schools will turn their stadium lights on in honor of spring athletes who lost their season. The 20 minutes and 20 seconds is in honor of the class of 2020 whose athletic participation was cut short due to the national health crisis.
Following schools that participated  Friday, May 1st were Jack Britt, Terry Sanford, Gray’s Creek, Cape Fear, Pine Forest, and EE Smith/
The following schools will join the list above next Friday, May 8th: Douglas Byrd, South View, Seventy-First, and Westover, so if you drive by and see the lights, it will be on from 8:20 to 8:40pm each Friday until May 22nd.
