This past weekend, 71st Varsity Cheerleaders competed at Nationals in three categories and won first place in all three.

  • Solo 1st Place (Tejon Cook Made History last year at Nationals as the First Male to ever Win it and now, has made history as the only male to defend the title)
  • Dance Break, 1st Place
  • Floor Routine, 1st Place

DECA LogoCongratulations to one of  SFHS DECA members for winning the National Qualifier at the recent DECA CDC Competition held at Greensboro, NC last March 13th and 14th.
Tatum James was a top 10 qualifier in Personal Finance. All of the competitors from 71st achieved proficiency and were recognized in the Dixie Pine region award ceremony.

FTCC’s High School Connections program is hosting a mandatory Parent Night for all parents of rising Juniors and Seniors on Thursday, March 28th starting at 6:00 pm. Interested participants  get a jump start on their college career by taking free college courses during 3rd and 4th periods of their Junior or Senior year.

Future Educator candidates are current high school seniors who plan to pursue careers in education and who commit to teaching with Cumberland County Schools for a minimum of three years upon completion of their teacher preparation programs. ICON Program

The ICON (Innovative Career Opportunities Now) has a summer internship program for students that will run from June 3–July 12, 2019. It is open to all Cumberland County students ages 16-24. Students will work 32 hours per week for six weeks at a rate of $8.00 an hour.

ICON is a Career and Technical Education Work-based learning program platform. It is implemented to help students  explore their possible careers and an opportunity to learn from skilled professionals.

Interested applicants  must submit an application form via online only and must attend a mandatory workshop, job fair and panel interviews on different specified dates.
