It is an open-door policy in the Counseling Office for students wishing to see their counselor.
Students may visit the Counseling Office before school, after school, or at the beginning of their lunch period.
All students must sign in prior to being assisted.
Students in emergency situations will be seen immediately by the first available counselor.
Students who wish to see their counselor during class must have a note/pass from their current teacher.
Students may also stop by the Counseling Office between classes to schedule an appointment with the counselor.
If a student chooses to stop by between classes, they need to make sure they have enough time to make it to class without being tardy.
If the counselor is not available or if the visit will cause them to miss being in class, the student needs to see Ms.Reece to schedule an appointment at another time.
Getting Perspective. Even if you don’t know your high school counselor very well, they have an aerial view of your high school experience. They know which classes you have taken and which ones you still need to take. They can tell where your strengths lie, and they also know where you’ve struggled.

Paying for college. The most advantageous part of working with a school counselor is having their help with the scholarship process. High school counselors can not only help you think about scholarships specific to the colleges, but they can also help with local and state scholarships related to your interests and affiliations.
Fine-Tuning application materials. When you get to the point in the application process where you are close to turning in your materials, high school counselors are an excellent resource. They can review and help you adjust both required and supplemental application items. Seek their advice on revising your essay and other materials — and make sure you start the process six to eight weeks before the due dates.
