Students are expected to exhibit good grooming and good taste in personal appearance. Students are expected to dress in such a manner that neither disrupts nor infringes upon the educational environment, health and safety of themselves and others. (Cumberland County Policy 4316-R4)
Parents are reminded that student behavior improves as dress improves and students are also being prepared for life after high school. Therefore, upon entering the building, students are to follow the dress code below:
Absolutely no sagging will be allowed. Pants are to be worn at the natural waist with no sagging.
No undergarments, shorts, gym shorts, etc…should be visible at any time.
Shorts, dresses, and skirts may be above the knee but must extend past the wearers fingertips with arms at their side. If the skirt/dress has a slit, the top of the slit should measure the same.
Tops worn with leggings must be fingertip length all the way around.
Sleeveless shirts are permitted if shoulder straps are at least 3 inches wide. Spaghetti straps, halter tops. tube tops, off-the shoulder tops, and clothing that exposes cleavage, the midriff, or the back are prohibited
See-through clothing.
Students may not alter or modify their clothes from the original wearing intent; such as tying it up in the back or on the side etc.
No towels, shirts, or bandanas around the neck.
Head Coverings: No bandanas, sweatbands, hoods, or headgear which may be considered a distraction for males and females are not to be worn inside the building. Religious belief head coverings (e.g., hijabs or yarmulkes), cultural expression (e.g., geles), or medically/disability related issues (e.g., protective helmet)may be worn.
Adornments or accessories, such as chains or spikes that could reasonably be perceived to be a weapon or could be utilized as a weapon are prohibited.
Students may not wear or carry clothing, jewelry, book bags, backpacks, or other personal articles that depict or display profanity, vulgarity, obscenity, nudity of any degree, violence, alcoholic beverages, tobacco , controlled substances, firearms, or any illegal activity, or which advertise products or services that are illegal.
Any symbols, styles, or attire frequently associated with gangs, intimidation, or violence which are disruptions to the educational environment are prohibited.
No full face makeup/painting outside of Theatre Class.
